City Tow Truck doesn't impound cars or patrol parking lots, so we won't have your vehicle. Here's how to find out who towed it and where it is.
Step by step
01
Private lots, strata buildings and businesses must post a tow-away sign. It names the towing company that patrols the lot and where it takes vehicles.
02
The City of Vancouver contracts Busters Towing to tow and impound vehicles from city streets and parks. Call 3-1-1 to confirm where your car went.
03
During construction or special events, cars are sometimes courtesy-towed to the nearest open spot. Check nearby streets, or ask the crew on site.
04
It may have been stolen. Call the police non-emergency line for the city you were in to report it. If you see a crime in progress, call 911.
Getting it back
Impound towing and storage fees are set by each city and collected by the towing company. Storage is charged per day, so pick your car up as soon as you can. Parking tickets are separate and are paid to the city.
Bring your driver's licence, proof of ownership or registration, and a way to pay. Call the impound lot first to check its hours.
The City of Vancouver lists current impound fees on its impounded vehicles and towing fees page.
Car won't start at the lot?
If your car is damaged or won't start once it's released, we can boost it or tow it on our flatbed to your home or mechanic, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 11pm.
